METODE LINGUISTIK SEMIOTIKA MUHAMMAD ARKOUNDAN URGENSINNYA TERHADAP PERKEMBANGAN KAJIAN AL-QUR’AN DI INDONESIA

Abstract

This article discusses the linguistic-semiotic method in the interpretation of the Qur’an by Mu- hammad Arkoun and its urgency for the development of Qur’anic studies in Indonesia. This topic was chosen because Muhammad Arkoun became one of the main fi gures of contemporary Islamic thought, who especially fought a lot in the study of the Qur’an in Indonesia. This article uses library research. Various related data are discussed using the description-analysis method based on a qualitative approach. From this, the article concludes that Muhammad Arkoun’s semiotic linguistic methods include critical linguistic analysis, critical relationship analysis, and mystical or symbolic analysis. The Arkoun method is a contemporary method that can be used in revealing the content of the Qur’an, so its position is important to understand and ground the Qur’an in the Indonesian context. Moreover, this method was brought up in order to produce an understanding of the Qur’an of the contemporary era.Keywords: Muhammad Arkoun, Philosophy, Linguistics-Semiotics, Qur’anic Studies.
