URGENSI PENDIDIKAN ISLAM RELIGIUS KONSERVATIF DI ERA 4.0 PERSPEKTIF SYEKH NAWAWI AL-BANTANI

Abstract

This research aims to discern the educational thinking of Sheikh Nawawi Al-Bantani. This article uses a library study. (library research). The object of study in this study is the thought of Sheikh Nawawi Al-Bantani about education. The primary source is taken from Maragustam Siregar’s book entitled Syeikh Nawawi Al-Bantani’s Educational Thinking. The urgency of Islamic educational thinking, according to Syekh Nawavi Al-Bantani, that is seen in the trunks of educational thought is more in line with the direction of conservative religious tradition. The idea of Islamic education should be built and implemented based on religious values. Syekh Nawawi Al-Bantani can bridge the problem of pragmatism in education, where the educational process should be based on religious values that originate in the Qur’an and Sunnah. The result of this investigation is that the main
thinking behind the education of Sheikh Nawawi is in the direction of conservative religious tradition, where the idea of Islamic education should be built and applied based on religious values and more specifi cally on the aspects of ethics and morality of educators and students.
