KONSELING LINTAS AGAMA DAN BUDAYA DALAM KASUS HOAKS DAN HATE SPEECH

Abstract

Hoaxes and hate speech are increasingly troubling phenomena in the context of religion and media in today’s digital age. These phenomena have far-reaching negative impacts, including social di- vision, conflict, and violence. Therefore, a holistic and comprehensive counseling design is needed to deal with hoaxes and hate speech in religion and media. Hoaxes and hate speech are destructive phenomena in modern society. To analyze the findings, the author uses descriptive analysis method as well as Karl Marx’s social approach theory, where structural analysis in Marx’s social approach helps to understand the conflict of interests underlying the spread of hoaxes and hate speech. Being critical of ideology allows the exposure of false narratives and the identification of the political or economic interests involved. Collective liberation and solidarity are key to countering the spread of hoaxes and hate speech, by building collective consciousness and solidarity between community groups.
